Running Projects

COURSE PROJECTS

The so-called course project is a group task embedded in a university subject, in which students engage with a question raised by a non-governmental organization or social enterprise.

Students typically work in groups of 3 to 6 with tutor guidance, using secondary (literature, analysis, survey) and / or primary (interview, questionnaire) research methodology, adding their own creativity.

It is important that in this kind of cooperation, students do not participate in the operational work of the organization, but undertake to discuss and answer a professional question within the subject.

Katalin Szakács

Development of Enterprises

BENT provides a framework that connects entrepreneurs and organizations. But we go beyond that; we connect people. We believe that we provide quality services and a wide range of products by activating our energies, creativity and knowledge. Entrepreneurs come together for projects and collaborations on behalf of a company. We asked for the Corvinus University's project team help to support BENT's strategic business planning for the next 1-2 years, with special focus on branding, service packaging (pricing), marketing strategy / market research, sensitization of corporate decision-making  / awareness rasing. The project focuses on the practical implementation of the task.

Corvinus Science Shop

Éva Révész

Management

Science Shop builds and supports collaborations between NGOs and the University. Collaboration can take many forms; the most common programme at the moment is course projects. Here an organization brings its question / need into a university course, that students work to answer in form of a group assignment. This is a win-win relationship for both education and the participating CSOs. We would like to develop the qualitative and quantitative impact assessment points and the methods of evaluation of the cooperation process and its results with the students in the course of science shop course projects.

Emberség Erejével Alapítvány (With the Power of Humanity Foundation)

Dóra Horváth, Tamás Csordás

Marketing and Media

Since 2017, the Foundation has been implementing the Emerging Civil Society Program (https://www.eckpecs.hu/), which has made the organization a key regional player in the civil sphere. They would like to strengthen this role outside of the program as well, to shape their funding structure and to reduce their dependency on funding sources. They have experience in CSR partnerships, have received corporate awards, sold various services, employed volunteers, etc. They see great opportunity in running CSR programs on a larger scale, whether they are organizing a support program, or a civilian volunteer base fit for hosting volunteer programmes or helping to develop a CSR strategy on the equal opportunities front. What are some good examples that could be applied in the South Transdanubian region? What companies might be worth contacting? What kind of needs do civilians have to fulfil, who are active on the field of CSR programs and how could the organization help them?

Ethnic Talents

Loretta Huszák

Development of Enterprises

Ethnic Talents serves the special casting needs of the Hungarian film industry: we select actors from different ethnicities and nationalities living in Hungary. The purpose of the organization in the program would be to conduct a market research investigating the pricing practices of different casting agencies in Hungary (statistics, wages of supporting and main role actors, forms of employment, etc.) and to create a business plan based on market research aiming for realistic future revenue.

Our organization is launching a niche service for people with Asperger’s to provide "autism-specific complex social counselling service with expert assistance", a specialized version of the service available to family carers for autists. For this, we have the professionals, location and demand. As we have not covered the costs of the professionals yet, this amount will initially fall to the affected and their families. In the medium term, we would like to find a business model where the professionals' fees are covered by sponsors or other actors involved.

NIOK

Éva Révész

Ökotárs Foundation

Éva Révész

Management

Palantír Film Foundation

Zsófia Kenesei

Marketing and Media

We have developed a practice-based training in visual communication and photography for organizations. We primarily target NGOs, because they are the least represented in the media, but training for small business staff can also make their marketing more conscious and effective. Furthermore, our aim is to target large corporations, banks, and other organizations supporting NGOs. It would be interesting for us to plan the pricing of the training and to investigate sales opportunities. We do not know the SME market and what kind of "pain" the training could remedy. A survey would also be needed in this area.

The social cooperative was founded in 2016 with the aim of creating jobs mainly for the disadvantaged people of Pécs-Somogy. We sell American mini donuts and potato chips at village days and festivals. The two products have two separate installations, and later we plan to introduce a new brand called the Roma Bundle. We would like to create a unified and attractive design that reflects the purpose and the products of the cooperative as well as represent the Roma.
